Simple Medical - 3D Digital Solution
01丨Traditional 3D scanning
3D scanning converts the three-dimensional shape, structure, and color of an object into digital signals, which provides a convenient and fast way to digitize physical objects. The significance of 3D scanning lies in its ability to transform 3D information into digital signals that computers can directly process, providing a fast and efficient way to digitize physical objects. The principle of 3D scanning can be compared to the principle of taking a photograph with a camera. The difference between the two is that cameras capture color information, while 3D scanners capture positional information. The image taken by a camera is composed of many pixel points, while the point cloud generated by a scanner is composed of many coordinate points.
02丨Simple Medical's 3D scanning
3D scanning digital technology is a newly emerged type of algorithm: Based on the principle of depth cameras and structured light methods, different beams form points, lines, gratings, surface structures, and infrared lights, and the position relationship and degree of structural light deformation between spatial projection sources form a three-dimensional data model. Currently, many hand-held 3D scanners have been launched, but their prices are very expensive and the devices are too large and not convenient to operate. Currently, we have conducted deep cooperation with the software development team of Tsinghua University, and using the hardware equipped with depth cameras on iPhone X and above, which supports 3D scanning, we have developed a new type of space data algorithm that can achieve high-accuracy model data collection within a 1.5mm range. A complete 3D scanning software has been developed and is now in the testing stage, and it will soon be put into practical use. This software can currently non-contactively scan the head, chest, hip, upper body, elbows, hands, knees, and feet, achieving accurate scanning models and collecting real-time data slices to provide real-time image data for later recovery medical support devices. After processing the data slice model in the later stage, modeling is completed, and real-time guard models are printed, adhered to the corresponding accessories, and assembled into final personal custom guards. This technology has made new strides in 3D digital medical technology and has brought new opportunities for progress.
01—Download software“Simple 3d”
Scan the QR code below with an iPhone X or newer model or an iPad Pro 11-inch (2nd generation) to download the Simple3d software. With the original depth sensing camera, and our dedicated scanning software, you can achieve accurate scanning of models or human body parts.
02—3D scanning data acquisition
During data collection, patients are required to change into tight-fitting clothing and place their hands flat on two bars, gripping them tightly, for scanning data collection. The intelligent software, SIMPLE 3D, is used to scan and automatically generate a 3D model.
03—Analyze data
Based on the measurements of the chest, waist, and hip circumference, as well as the spinal column in both anterior-posterior and lateral views, and the full-length X-ray and 3D scan data, an analysis will be conducted.
03丨Applications of 3D scanning technology
A 3D scanner is a high-tech device that integrates optics, machinery, electronics, and computer technology. It is used to scan the outer shape, structure, and color of an object to obtain the spatial coordinates of its surface. Its significance lies in the ability to convert the three-dimensional information of a physical object into data that can be directly processed by a computer. When combined with 3D printing technology, it can be used to create physical models from the scanned data, bringing convenience to scientific research, data analysis, and our daily lives.
Here are some applications of 3D scanning in real-life scenarios:
01 Medical industry
The medical field can also benefit greatly from 3D scanning technology. This technology has been used in research, patient care, and customized medical solutions, bringing remarkable changes to the field. In simple medical applications, this technology is used to provide customized orthotics and prosthetics services.
02 Anime figurine
3D scanning technology can quickly scan physical objects to obtain a digital 3D model that is both convenient and accurate, reducing the difficulty of modeling and greatly saving costs.
03 Figure statue
We often use photography to capture wonderful moments or meaningful moments in life, but whether it's printed photos or photos stored in phones or cameras, the image presented is always flat. However, 3D scanning can turn these moments into tangible entities that can be touched and felt.
04 Cultural heritage conservation
Cultural relic restoration involves scanning damaged cultural relics, reverse modeling the missing parts, 3D printing the missing parts, and restoring the cultural relics. Cultural heritage conservation involves 3D scanning and modeling the cultural relics, and preserving the digital models in digital libraries for permanent preservation.
